KL Rahul – One of India’s Best Batters

KL Rahul is an Indian cricketer. He is vice-captain of the national team and plays for Karnataka in domestic cricket. He is also the current captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, a franchise in the Indian Premier League. Rahul has been name one of India’s best batsmen.

KL Rahul’s Career

KL Rahul has played for many teams in IPL, including the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has also represented Team India in all three formats. Rahul hails from a family of teachers. His father is a professor at the NITK in Mangalore, and his mother is an associate professor at the University of Mangalore. Rahul’s first name was actually Rohan, which his father mistook for Rahul.

KL Rahul first represented India in the U19 World Cup, where he scored 143 runs in his debut match. Rahul was then name to the India squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He was select to the side after Shikhar Dhawan’s injury and scored a century against Sri Lanka. KL Rahul was born in Mangalore, Karnataka on 18 April 1992. He was inspire by Sunil Gavaskar and began playing cricket at a young age. He has since played for the Bangalore and United Cricket Club and the Mangalore Cricket Club. Rahul moved to Bangalore when he was 18 years old and later studied at Jain University. Rahul is currently dating Athiya Shetty, the daughter of Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty.

In the second ODI against Australia, he batted at the number five position and scored 80 runs off 52 balls with six fours and three sixes.

After being called up for a test debut in 2014, Rahul had several seasons as a member of the Indian team. In December 2014, Rahul was appoint to replace Rohit Sharma in the Indian team. In Melbourne, he batted at number six and made three runs in the first innings. He was also select for the Boxing Day Test against Australia. In Sydney, he opened with Murali Vijay and made 110 runs.

His Century Against England

KL Rahul’s Century was a timely reminder of why he was so important to India in their series win against England. Rahul has had a difficult time scoring runs in Test cricket in recent times but he was able to hit a century off 248 balls at Trent Bridge. The innings was Rahul’s sixth Test century and his first since his 149 against England at The Oval last year. Rahul also smashed a six off Moeen Ali. India reached a total of 276-3 at stumps, which was an unbeaten total.

Despite losing Hanuma Vihari and Ajinkya Rahane in the middle of the innings, Rahul and Rishabh Pant put on an unbeaten 207-run partnership for the sixth wicket.
